Diaper Free!

Not our house (unfortunately), just Makena.  We potty trained her about two weeks ago.  Derek took the lead this time because I'm often tied up nursing or putting Kyle down for naps.

About a month or so leading up to the weekend, Makena successfully used the toilet/potty several times.  We knew she was ready to get rid of the diaper.  We talked to her about wearing "big girl undies" and using the potty and she was excited for it.

On Friday morning, I put away all her diapers and Derek helped her put on a pair of Dora underwear.  We spent the next 48 hours at home, encouraging Makena to use the potty and rewarding her every time she did (she's very motivated by treats, aka fruit snacks).  She had a few accidents but 10-15 successful trips to the potty each day.

On Sunday, we went to church and she had a couple of accidents.  Perhaps it was too early to spend the morning outside the house.  She had a couple more accidents when I was at work but for a solid week now she's been accident free.  Yay Makena!

No. They both wear Pull-Ups at night. Karis just recently got rid of Pull Ups at nap time. Well, I guess it's been several months now. Makena will keep hers dry at nap time so I'm hoping to get rid of them soon. She's good about waking up to pee. The only thing is that she's now waking up in the middle of the night to do so. She then gets in bed with Derek. We're all not getting good sleep in this house!
