5 Weeks Old

Kyle  is now 5 weeks old.  We have been watching him for signs of Pyloric Stenosis which typically rears its ugly head between 3 and 5 weeks.  A couple times I thought I was seeing first signs of it, but nothing has happened since then.  We're hoping we're in the clear, but keeping in mind there's still a chance it can develop in the next couple months.

For reference, here is a link to an explanation of pyloric stenosis: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001965/.

Kyle went from 7 lb 3 oz one week after surgery up to 11 lb 3 oz at 4-1/2 weeks. Hope it is not God's way of preparing him for a bout with pyloric stenosis. ;-)

Both my older sister and I had it; my sister's daughter had it; and Makena had it. I have a 6" vertical scar on my belly where you can see marks from both stitches and staples. I also have a cross-shaped scar on my ankle from where I was fed intravenously. My niece has a thin 1" horizontal scar along one of her ribs. Makena has three nearly invisible 2 mm scars that form an inverted triangle from her belly button up. Amazing how science has progressed.
