Last Days of School

Kyle had a great year in Ms. Marsha's class. He loved every minute of it!

Kyle had a  PreK Splash Day the last week of school. Lots of fun in the sun!

I was a little nervous for Kyle to start at a new preschool. I prayed the entire summer before he started at the Butterfly School that he would find a good friend. Elliott was an answer to that prayer. He is such a sweet boy and Kyle and Elliott became best buds. I am so thankful for their friendship!

I will miss Kyle helping me on Wednesdays pass out snacks to each class. He was my little helper!

I can't believe how much he grew up during the school year. He looks like such a big boy!

The girls also ended a great year at Mockingbird. Here are a few pics from Field Day.

Kyle saw all the inflatables and water fun and suddenly he was excited for Kindergarten!

Karis participated in Hoop It Up again this year and cheered for the student team.

Our school had an end of the year pool party at the rec center. It was windy, drizzly and cold but that didn't stop the kids from swimming and having a great time.

Kyle Graduates PreK

My baby graduated PreK! All the preschool kids performed in the Spring program and then the PreK students walked the stage. Look at that precious face!

Daddy was at work so we took video and pictures for him. Miss Lindsay came to help us celebrate!

Next stop -- Kindergarten!!

Muffins with Mom

Kyle invited me to Muffins with Mom. I am savoring every little preschool moment, knowing this will be my last. We enjoyed breakfast together with his friends. I love the gift I received!

PreK Thanksgiving Feast

I got to celebrate Thanksgiving with Kyle at school. We at a yummy feast together in the morning.

God has blessed us with so much and I pray that we would always give thanks to Him not only in this season, but all throughout the year!

PreK Fall Festivities

Kyle got to go on his first field trip! Daddy went with him to a local pumpkin patch to play games, listen to stories and pick a pumpkin.

Nana was in town when Kyle had his class Halloween party.

Kyle cleaned off his plate while the rest of the kids played games.

I love being at school with him! I get to see him in the halls and drop in on his parties.

Donuts with Dad

Kyle invited Daddy to Donuts with Dad at his school.

Kyle gave his 60-year old dad a tie to wear to the event.  =)

Kyle's First Day of PreK

This handsome boy is in PreK!  Since we left our old church, Kyle is starting preschool at a new school. He wasn't too excited over the summer to start at a new school, but after we toured it and then he spent two days at the school while I had teacher meetings, he was pretty excited for the first day.  It also helped that his sisters started school two weeks ago, and he's been pretty bored at home!

Kyle wanted to color the flags on his "first day of school" sign. When he gave me his sign back, he had drawn trees and a whole bunch of people on it. I loved it! It'll remind me of how he's been drawing a lot lately as it's one of his favorite things to do.

Daddy brought him to school and helped him learn the drop-off routine. First thing was to hang up his backpack.

He unpacked his lunch box and water bottle and put it in the designated spot by the door. (Side note: the little boy next to him is Grahm. Kyle says whenever he hears his name, he wants to eat a graham cracker.)

After Kyle dropped off his things, he went straight into the classroom. Derek and I just looked at each other because we wanted a hug good-bye...or at least a wave. I called him back so I could at least get a picture of him with his teacher. He loves Mrs. Marsha!

We both had a great first day! I am at the school three days a week as the Toddler and 2-Year Old Teacher Aid. We are looking forward to this school year!

On the second day of school, Kyle was just as excited to go to school. He was so happy and giggly when I picked him up at the end of the day.

Preschool Christmas Program

Every year our preschool has the cutest Christmas program. The pre-K classes act out the Christmas story while the 3-year old classes sing in the supporting choir. After three years of watching his sisters either on stage or in the choir, it was finally his year to be in the program!

Kyle did a great job singing the songs and doing the motions.

I think he my have yawned more than he sang. Poor boy was tired and couldn't stop yawning!

Kyle's First Day of Preschool

The girls have been in school for two weeks and I definitely enjoyed my fun, low-key little buddy all to myself.  But the last couple days, I have to admit, I was a little excited for Kyle to start school. My list of "things to do when the kids go to school" was getting long and I was eager to get them done (projects around the house, stores where I want to shop alone, etc).

I couldn't tell if Kyle was excited to go to school. Summer was a long time for a little three year old and preschool as a two year old was only a distant, fuzzy memory. He goes to school at our church so half the time I don't think he even knows if he's going to church or school!

When I was getting him ready for his First Day of School picture, he started to get sad and said he didn't want to go. In the sweetest little voice, he asked, "Mommy, are you going to stay with me?" I almost started to cry! I knew he would enjoy school but I could feel his uncertainty and nervousness. He loved the cars on his picture I made, so he cheered right up and happily let me take a picture of him...of course, with cars in hand. Perfect.

He wanted to walk to school (just like sisters), but I convinced him we best take the car.

When we arrived at school, he wanted to see Daddy first. When he saw Daddy and all the other kids arriving, there was nothing but excitement.

He wanted to carry his own backpack (something he never did last year) and told me he'd show me where his class was. He walked right in and got busy playing at one of the tables. He had a great first day!

The next day he was the line leader and he had an even better day! His teachers are super sweet. One of his teachers taught both of our girls as well. We are excited for how much he's going to grow and learn this year. Such a big boy!

Last Day of Preschool

School is out! The kids had a great last day of school. Kyle's class had a pizza party and all the kids enjoyed bounce houses and popsicles. They both had great teachers and loved their time at school.

Headed home -- we're outta here!

Kyle can identify all of his friends' names and knows what letter each name starts with.

But when his teachers asked him to count or say his alphabet, he refused to do it. We know it wasn't because he didn't know them. Little stinker!

Look how much he has grown up!

Makena received a great report card!

She has grown up so much! I can't believe she's headed to Kindergarten.
