Kyle's Birthday and Mother's Day

We got to celebrate this cutie's 5th birthday on Mother's Day.

He received one last present from Mom and Dad.

We went to church and then to Babe's for lunch for Mother's Day. It was fun celebrating both of us together!

Karis made mac n cheese for dinner so I didn't have to cook!

Happy 5th Birthday Kyle!

Kyle got to celebrate his birthday at school.

He brought truck cookies to share with his friends.

On Saturday, he had a party at the park.

He just wanted to invite his three best buds. Elliott and Grahm from school:

And Joey!

It was a fire and police themed party.

The weather couldn't have been better and the kids had snacks and just played. It was perfect!

Kyle got a huge set of fancy sidewalk chalk and the girls quickly took to them.

He also got a motorized police car that moved and made lots of noise. They played with it around the park and Kyle made some new friends along the way!

Second Season of Soccer

Karis finished her second season of soccer. She loved the addition of having Daddy as her coach. Karis shows up to each game ready to play and she plays hard. She continues to become better and better. This season she has gained a good grasped positioning, being patient and being in the right place at the right time.

The team celebrated the end to a great season at CiCi's Pizza, one of the kids' favorite places!

Sadly, Daddy couldn't make it to the party because he had to work. The team shared kind words about  how thankful they were for him stepping up to coach and being so patient and good with the girls.

Muffins with Mom

Kyle invited me to Muffins with Mom. I am savoring every little preschool moment, knowing this will be my last. We enjoyed breakfast together with his friends. I love the gift I received!

Makena's 1st Grade Performance

The first grade program is about recycling. The students talk about recycling and then sing songs about what recycling is and how we can do our part to save the planet.

Each student is asked to audition for the speaking parts. Makena wanted a speaking part and she got one! She memorized her lines and practiced a lot at school and at home. The line was short so the biggest challenge was talking in a strong voice. As the program date approached, Makena no longer wanted a speaking part! She was nervous, but I told her that was completely normal.

Makena did a great job!! We were so proud of her.

Our Budding Artist

The art teacher at MKB submitted Karis's artwork in a local competition. She did not place in the competition, but her artwork was displayed in the school district's administration building. We were thrilled when Karis came home with this note:

We went the next day to check it out!

We are so proud of her and her talent!

Happy Birthday Makena!

Makena wrote a list of all the things she wanted to do for her birthday.

We started the morning with donuts and presents from the family.

While Karis was at soccer camp, she went shopping with Mommy to spend some birthday money. We went to Michael's for Beanie Boos, Barnes & Noble for two Star Wars books, and then Toys R Us for a small Lego set. Our last stop was the grocery store to pick out ice cream for dessert.

After lunch we went to Going Bonkers -- a slight change from her list.

After the kids were done running, climbing and sliding, we went to Sonic. The kids love the corndogs and they love eating in the car!

When we got home, we had dessert and then Karis and Daddy had to go to soccer practice. Makena and Kyle stayed home and watched a movie. We hit everything on her list! It was a full, fun day and she loved it!

The next day, our friends from small group surprised us with some cupcakes for the birthday girl!

Choo Choo!

Daddy knows his boy loves trains.

He found a miniature train in Ft. Worth for us to ride.

Our kiddos are pretty fun to hang out with.

It was a great day for a train ride!

On our walk back to the car, we found a small exercise station. We worked out a little and had some fun family competition. The kids loved it and it was ranked as one of their top playgrounds!
