Second Season of Soccer

Karis finished her second season of soccer. She loved the addition of having Daddy as her coach. Karis shows up to each game ready to play and she plays hard. She continues to become better and better. This season she has gained a good grasped positioning, being patient and being in the right place at the right time.

The team celebrated the end to a great season at CiCi's Pizza, one of the kids' favorite places!

Sadly, Daddy couldn't make it to the party because he had to work. The team shared kind words about  how thankful they were for him stepping up to coach and being so patient and good with the girls.

Spring Soccer

Karis has started her second season of soccer. She is excited to play! Her team chose a new name and color. This season they are the Shooting Stars.

This is Karis before her first game. It was an early game and it was cold!

Guess who is the new Assistant Coach for the Shooting Stars?  Daddy-o!  He is excited to support the team and work with a great head coach. Karis is getting used to having her Daddy on the field with her. They are learning to respect one another and work together in a team setting!

End of Karis' First Soccer Season

The Maroon Mermaids had a great season! Their record 3-5-1.

We loved watching Karis play. She played hard and the coach awarded her Most Improved.

Last game of the season!

We are so proud of her!

Karis is looking forward to next season!

Our Soccer Player

Karis started her first season of soccer. She had been wanting to play for awhile, and when we realized she was truly interested, we signed her up. Well, we put her on the waiting list because the deadline had already passed. Thankfully she got off the list and was put on a great team -- Maroon Mermaids! The team is made up of some great players, some have played together for years. We love the two coaches. They are so patient and encouraging with the team.

We weren't sure if Karis was going to like soccer. We didn't know if people watching her would make her nervous or if we would have to have the "you signed up and made a commitment and you're going to finish the season" conversation with her. Our worries were unfounded as she has been loving it. She improves so much after each practice and game. It has been fun to watch her learn, make new friends and gain confidence!

Here are a few pictures from before and after her first game.
