Cars and a Cake for Kyle

The day after Kyle's birthday, Aunt Stephanie and Jimmy visited from Illinois. We went out to dinner and then had cake to celebrate our two year old. Kyle loved the cars on the cake. They didn't stay on it for very long!

Happy Birthday To Our 2 Year Old Boy!

Kyle turned 2 today! He is no longer a little baby. =(  He is talking a lot these days. He's always copying what we say and is starting to put two to three words together. He is a happy, social little boy who loves to go out. He loves cars, trains and animals. Happy Birthday, Kyle!

Kyle, how old are you? (When it's your birthday, you get to eat pancakes on the counter)

Daddy was at a retreat and Karis was in school, so Nana, Makena, Kyle and I spent the day together. Kyle started the day with a gift from Nana -- a collection of safari animals. The lion and zebra are his favorite.

We then went to the park to play and ride/pull his tricycle.

After naps, Daddy was home (yay!) so we all went to Going Bonkers.

Daddy won lots of tickets so the girls got to pick a couple of prizes. After some play, we stopped to eat dinner and then played some more.

Then it was time to tear up some more presents. Kyle didn't need any help!

Afterwards, we went to a coffee shop for hot chocolate and cookies. Tomorrow we'll celebrate some more with cake!

Mother's Day Presents

I love the things the kids make at school. Below are the presents I received for Mother's Day.

Makena knows me well! When asked what mommy likes to do, she said "go to sleep."

The photo Kyle is holding was taken on his first day of preschool. He's grown so much!

Butterflies!

Nana is in town so we decided to do something a little different for family day. We went to the Texas Discovery Gardens where they have a butterfly house, outdoor gardens and lots of bugs on display.

Karis learned about caterpillars and butterflies in Pre-K. She watched four of them transform in their classroom. She was excited to see the butterfly house!

Karis really wanted a butterfly to land on her (we all did!), but unfortunately it didn't happen.

Karis really wanted a book on insects so we purchased one in the gift store. Daddy read about a few of them as we hung out and relaxed in the garden.

We had lunch in Dallas and then headed back home for naps. Everyone had a great time!

Get the bubbles, Kyle!

There are bubbles on my head!

Taking A Walk With Kyle

When taking a walk with Kyle, there's not much walking going on. But there is...

Stopping to look at bugs

Standing on every man hole

And sitting on neighbor's benches

Love his curiosity...it just takes a long time to get home!

This evening we walked to the elementary school after dinner. Can't believe we are one summer away from Karis going to kindergarten!
