Mother's Day

We've had a great visit in Arizona this weekend with my mom. Karis was on display all weekend long! We're going to have a tough time keeping up with all the lovin' Grammie showed Karis.

We also were able to introduce Karis to her second cousin Bella. The girls were instantly friends hugging like they've known each other for years. =)

But when the little ladies were on the floor (we thought playing), Karis snagged the camera to get a self-portrait of the two bff's.

It will be a long drive home (sad for all), but we are grateful to have the time that we did. We hope to have Karis visiting Grandma again soon.
And, of course, a photo of mother Lena and daughter Karis.

Thanks Grandma!

Grandma Robinson bought Karis a set of books and DVDs that will help her get a head start on reading -- perhaps before Kindergarten.  She typically spends all day just sleeping, eating and pooping -- nothing too productive -- so I decided to get her started on the learning.

She looked a bit overwhelmed at first at all the materials.

But she picked a starting point and got to it.

She spent a good few hours studying.

Eventually she pooped out.  We'll resume again tomorrow...

Grandma's first visit with Karis

Grandma made a very long drive to CA from AZ (and back) to see her newest grandchild. It had been about 19 years since her last grandchild was born. Needless to say, she was EXCITED!!

Karis is just over two weeks old in the photos. She was sleeping most of her days, but Grandma Karen was glad to hold her... and hold her she did!

Here are some photos of the visit. Notice that Grandma didn't care for any photos with Karis' parents, in fact, I'm not sure she was aware of our presence once she got the baby in her arms.
