At The Salon

I have cut the girls' hair since they were little. Well, Karis didn't really have any hair to cut until she was about three years old. At any rate, they have never had their hair professionally cut. Thankfully, their hair is curly so the untrained eye can't see my lack of skills in cutting hair (so I think!).

With school starting, I thought it would be a good excuse to get them a professional hair  cut. Here is a before photo of the girls.

We went to see my hairdresser. Karis was up first since Makena wasn't sure what was going to happen. Karis came with me one time to get my hair cut, so she knew what to expect

This is how much hair Karis got cut off.

Then it was Makena's turn

She got a lot more cut off her ends. She still had a shorter spot that she had cut herself, but now her hair is all one length!

The girls love their new haircuts and they look super cute!

On another note... this is what the girls really want to do every time I pull out my camera!

Kyle's First Haircut from Daddy

Kyle has had several haircuts, but this was the first time Daddy cut his hair. Look at those cheeks!

Kyle was patient and turned his head when asked.

He combed his own hair when it was all done.

And then gave Daddy a thumbs up.

So handsome!

Kyle's First Haircut

I've been wanting to cut Kyle's hair but couldn't convince the husband that this was a good idea. He wanted to keep Kyle's hair long and curly. When Kyle woke up from his nap yesterday, the back of his head was all matted and ratty looking, like it usually is. With about 15 minutes before we had to pick up his sisters from school, I took Kyle to the bathroom. I used the clippers and cut the sides of his hair. It wasn't planned but I'm glad I did it. He looks handsome!

Time for Rogaine?

No, not for Derek... thank goodness... for our baby girl. Her hair doesn't seem to be growing in. We keep waiting and waiting and waiting. All of her friends (younger and older) have a nice set of hair, beautifully adorned with bows, flowers, etc. Not Karis. There is nothing to adorn.

We are hopeful because she has one patch of hair at the top of her head that is growing in just great. Now if just the rest of her head would do the same.
