These Are A Few Of Their Favorite Things

These days, the girls love to do crafts. They love to cut, color, glue and play with beads. They also love coloring books and drawing with markers. One of our most recent projects was making paper fairies and mermaids. It was Karis' idea. I drew them, they colored them, and then I cut them out. They played with them for hours.

Their latest obsession is Strawberry Shortcake. They watch the show every day and love to read the books and play with little figurines. Their second favorite TV show is Care Bears. 

I love that they have been enjoying a lot of the same things. It's fun to watch them play together and I love how their relationship is developing.

These Are A Few Of Her Favorite Things

Makena has been cracking us up lately.  She is becoming her own little person.  Unfortunately most of the time she makes us laugh is because of her clumsiness.  She just doesn't look where she's going and she often loses her footing when she gets excited.

One of her favorite things right now are her two pacifiers.  We struggle to limit them to when she is in bed.  Her next favorite thing is the iPod.  She loves the puzzles and watching videos (even though she doesn't watch TV).  She also likes to carry around a little container of beads and to stack her blocks and cups.

Makena loves to play with her big sister.  She is great about taking turns and sharing with Karis (if and when she asks nicely).  She has become a lot more social and loves to say "hello" and "bye-bye" to people when we're out and about.  

She also loves to hang around her little brother and take care of him.  

She is a happy child and I love the sound of her laughter.  She can be quite loud whether by screaming for fun or showing us she's upset about something.  She loves to eat but is a pickier eater than Karis.  She is getting so big and growing up fast!

Back on the Bike

The last time I rode on the motorcycle with Derek was when I was six month pregnant.  That was the point when my riding jacket was a bit snug and I had to put it away.  I've been looking forward to getting back on the bike for a nice ride.  I enjoy being outside, with my arms wrapped around my husband, and in silence with just me and my thoughts and tons of things to look at.  

We got back on the bike for our usual ride down Santiago Canyon.  Karis did great inside the tank bag.  No, we wouldn't take her on the bike.  We left her at home with my sister.  Thanks sis for watching our baby so we could go on a ride!

My Favorite Blog

At church, we’re going through a series called 40 Days of Love. We’re learning how to love and as we do that, we define what true love is. In our small group we talked about how the word “love” is not to be used loosely or just thrown around for just anything. That said, I can’t say I love this blog, but I truly, truly do enjoy it.

This blog makes me laugh every time. It has great pictures and hilarious text to accompany it. Whenever I need a pick me up or a break from work, I check out this blog. It never fails to disappoint. I don’t think I find it amusing because I make desserts. I think anyone would get a kick out of it. Let me know if I’m wrong…
