Our First Prenatal Visit
I felt like a little kid on the first day of school. "Come on, let's go! We're going to be late!" I've been waiting for this appointment for what seemed like forever. I was just eager to find out that the baby was there with a beating heart.
After filling out a stack full of papers in the waiting room, we were invited into the exam room where the nurse asked more questions and took some vitals. Everything was "normal."
The doctor came in to do the ultrasound. We saw the heart as a little white light that was pulsing. So cool! She looked around and said that everything looked good, including the baby's heart and level of fluid. Praise God! We are so thankful that everything checked out well.
I'm thankful that we also liked our doctor and will plan to stay with her for this pregnancy.
Immediately after we left the exam room, Derek took a photo of our ultrasound picture and emailed it to the family.

Baby Robinson
Going for our first doctor tomorrow. Hoping and praying that our baby is growing nice and healthy. This is starting to get fun for me.
So far, it has been hard for me to imagine because everything is happening inside of momma. She's the one not having her normal monthly periods. She's the one feeling sick. She's the one hungry for PB&J sandwiches at breakfast.
In the movie Juno, the adoptive mother to be talks about nesting and the difference between mothers and fathers. Mothers start nesting immediately. Their bodies changes, their hormones change, their eating habits, their taste buds, etc. But fathers, we don't start nesting until the baby is born and we can hold the baby in our hands. I'm hoping to get a taste of nesting when I see Lena's belly all big and round.
God bless this baby and help us to raise the baby in Your ways.
